Thomson Reuters research has shown that inhouse lawyers are significantly reducing the use of external lawyers and instead turning to inhouse resources and technology to save costs.

Businesses that sell to consumers are being bombarded with subject access requests (SARs) with some reporting they are receiving SARs on a daily basis. Responding to a SAR is not always straight forward and can take time but this has to be managed against the backdrop of a strict deadline imposed on responses. This has given rise to an increased volumes of complaints to the Information Commissioners Office about late or inadequate SAR responses leading to fines for businesses.
To assist businesses with this significant issue Lore has developed The SARPortal, an interactive tool that manages SARs from start to finish, documenting a timeline along the way and providing assistance to those dealing with the requests. SAR Portal will be launched in February 2023.
